GACA participates in ICAO Symposium for Advanced Air Mobility in Canada

 The General Authority of Civil Aviation of Saudi Arabia (GACA), led by His Excellency President Abdulaziz Al-Duailej, is pleased to announce its participation in the first International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Advanced Air Mobility Symposium, held in Montreal, Canada, from September 9 – 12, 2024.

The Symposium will see GACA showcasing the Kingdom’s Saudi Aviation Strategy and the latest achievements in the sector, next to exploring collaborative opportunities with global aviation leaders. GACA’s presence underscores Saudi Arabia’s commitment to advancing the aviation sector and embracing innovative technologies, in addition to the development of solid regulatory reforms that enable the progress of Advanced Air Mobility (AAM). 

GACA will also highlight major developments in safe and innovative transportation to achieve a more sustainable future, in line with the Kingdom’s ambitious goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2060.

Saudia tops on-time performance for the second consecutive time

Saudia, the national flag carrier of Saudi Arabia, continues to top the global list for on-time performance (OTP), achieving this milestone for the second time consecutively, according to a report by the independent aviation tracking site, Cirium, for July 2024.


The report indicates that Saudia has achieved an on-time arrival rate of 88.12% and an on-time departure rate of 88.15%, operating 16,503 flights across its network of over 100 destinations in four continents.


His Excellency Engr. Ibrahim Al-Omar, Director General of Saudia Group, said: “At Saudia Group, achieving a high OTP has been a shared objective, as it directly impacts guest satisfaction. We’ve successfully maintained it during this year’s peak seasons, a testament to the collaborative efforts of the entire Saudia Group and relevant stakeholders in the aviation industry. Sustaining our leadership in this area requires continuous dedication and resilience in overcoming the numerous challenges within the aviation sector globally.”

In the coming years, Saudia will take delivery of 103 new aircraft, aligning with the airline’s strategy to double seating capacity, expand to new global destinations, as well as its commitment to bring the world to the Kingdom in line with Vision 2030.

Saudi delegation at Egypt International Airshow from 3-5 September....

The General Authority of Civil Aviation of Saudi Arabia (GACA) will participate in the Egypt International Airshow from 3-5 September, with a delegation headed by His Excellency the President, Abdulaziz Al-Duailej.
  


This event is set to take place at El Alamein International Airport and will host some of the most renowned speakers and companies in the space, defense, and commercial aviation industries.

The exhibition will showcase a range of advanced technologies, featuring some of the world’s most advanced commercial and military aircraft, as well as the latest technology and equipment in aerospace, from more than 100 countries and 300 exhibiting companies.

The Airshow will offer a global platform for GACA to share the latest achievements of the Saudi aviation sector and promote its regulatory reforms to enable growth and innovation in the Kingdom.

GACA Issues Water Aerodrome License to Red Sea Global

Red Sea Global (RSG), the developer behind the regenerative tourism destinations, The Red Sea and AMAALA, has secured its second operating license for a water aerodrome from the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA). 

 



His Excellency Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Duailej, the President of GACA, handed the license for Shebara Resort to RSG’s Group CEO John Pagano at The Red Sea destination. 

The President stated the license award formed part of GACA’s aviation transformation program to boost competition and investment in support of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 agenda. 

Through the Saudi Aviation Strategy GACA is driving unprecedented growth in Saudi aviation, supporting projects such as Red Sea Global with greater aviation infrastructure and connectivity. 

As the Kingdom’s aviation regulator, GACA is ensuring the highest levels of safety and quality across the sector, demonstrating Saudi Arabia’s global leadership in the aviation sector. 

Mr Pagano said the license was one of the final steppingstones toward opening Shebara to the world. 

“Soon, guests will be arriving by seaplane to this iconic resort in anticipation of enjoying a truly peerless escape,” Mr Pagano said. 

“As owners of the Kingdom’s first seaplane airline and its only two water aerodromes up until now, we are firmly establishing ourselves as leaders within tourism and aviation.”
