For September, Widerøe reported a record number of passengers in one month, however, that podium didn't last long as in October that record was surpassed. With a capacity increase of five percent compared to last year and five percent compared to last month, October 2024 will be the new record month with 372,757 passengers. That's up 16 percent from the same month last year.
Widerøe succeeds in filling the aircraft seats better in October. Increased production and fuller aircraft resulted in a load factor of 73.6 percent. An increase of 5.2 percentage points compared to last year. Both the tender routes and the company's commercial flight routes were better filled in October. The load factor on the tender routes in isolation is 67 percent.
The air is fresh and the autumn storms are raging. Both factors are a sure sign that winter is on its way. And with winter comes the Christmas holidays. "We are now experiencing that several of our routes are filled around the Christmas holidays," says Widerøe's Commercial Director Christian Skaug.
