Flight ZH9138 had taken off from Shijiazhuang and was en route to Shenzhen on 18 October 2024, when the smoke was spotted. According to the airline, the aircraft landed safely at 14:24 and an evacuation was ordered. There are no reported injuries and the affected passengers were accommodated or assisted with travel plans.
The aircraft, registration B-30FP is four years old and powered by Pratt & Whitney engines and whilst the cause of the smoke is not yet known, a full investigation is underway.
