More flights from Southampton as Tui returns after 15 years and easyJet starts route to Amsterdam

Exciting news for the Hampshire region, as holiday airline TUI Airways confirmed it is returning to Southampton Airport with a weekly flight to Palma De Mallorca after a 15-year hiatus.

Plus, budget airline easyJet is introducing a twice-weekly service to Amsterdam this winter, the carrier's seventh service from the airport.

easyJet started Amsterdam flights on Monday and will fly twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays making it an ideal long weekend destination. Gavin Williams, Managing Director of Southampton Airport, said: “We are delighted easyJet saw to expand it’s offering at Southampton Airport and it was great to see the service to Amsterdam start flying."

Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK Country Manager, said: “Our fantastic new service from Southampton to Amsterdam will provide our customers in the South of England with even more options to discover one of Europe’s most popular cities this winter and we can’t wait to welcome them onboard.”

Tui's flights to Palma will run every Tuesday from the 27th of May 2025 through to 20th of September 2025, which will align with Marella Cruises' much-anticipated summer programme.

TUI UK’s Director of Aviation Planning Karen Switzer said: “We are extremely excited to return to Southampton Airport to reconnect travellers with the vibrant corner of the world that is Palma. We understand how important it is for customers to have access to flights from their local airports, and this latest addition brings the number of regional airports that TUI Airways fly from to 24. We look forward to welcoming customers on board from May next year and taking them away on their dream Mallorcan holiday”.

Chris Tibbett, Aero Director at AGS Airports, commented: "The runway extension at Southampton Airport has paved the way for exciting new travel opportunities for the Central South region. With TUI's return after 15 years, holidaymakers now have the chance to experience the full TUI journey from start to finish. This is an incredible milestone for our airport and signals a future filled with growth, as we continue to expand and enhance travel options for our passengers to every corner of Europe.”
