Aeroflot's most popular routes for the first half of the year..

The Russian airline Aeroflot has released figures for its growth despite sanctions and airspace closures.  The carrier carried 4.2 million passengers on its own international flights, which is 34.1% more than in the first half of 2023.

The most popular international destinations in terms of the number of transported passengers in the first half of 2024 were*:

The most popular domestic destinations in terms of the number of transported passengers in the first half of 2024 were*:

Moscow — Yekaterinburg — Moscow (463,207 passengers)

New routes....

The Russian carrier is resuming direct scheduled flights to Thailand from Yekaterinburg. 

Twice weekly flights to Phuket will begin on September 13 on Mondays and Fridays. Flight SU626 departs from Yekaterinburg at 23:50. From October 3, the second flight will depart from Yekaterinburg instead of Friday on Thursdays at the same time.

Twice weekly flights to Bangkok will begin on September 15 on Wednesdays (except September 18) and Sundays. Flight SU652 departs from Yekaterinburg at 10:25. From September 30, flights will depart from Koltsovo Airport on Mondays at 10:10 and on Fridays at 02:20.

Services will be operated on Airbus A330 aircraft in a two-class cabin layout: 28 Business class seats and 268 Economy class seats. It is unknown how the airline is keeping its Airbus A330 fleet airworthy and certifiable following sanctions on all official Airbus-authorised parts.

The airline is also starting direct scheduled flights to Hainan Island (Sanya, China) from Vladivostok, Khabarovsk and Novosibirsk. 

Three weekly flights to the resort from Vladivostok will begin on September 2 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Flights from Khabarovsk will open from September 3 on Tuesdays and Saturdays, and from Novosibirsk from September 5 on Thursdays and Sundays.

Services will be operated on Boeing 737-800 aircraft in a two-class cabin layout: 20 Business class seats and 138 Economy class seats.
