The U.S. mega-carrier American Airlines has dropped 1st free bag for basic economy passengers on international routes. Now AA will charge $75 for the 1st bag on routes Between Israel and U.S., Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean (including Haiti), Central America, and South America.
The fee also applies to services to or from India, China, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand.
Basic economy is the lowest fare level on American, which now includes just the seat and snacks and they also allow you to take on a cabin bag of limited dimensions.
