Forbes recognizes Delta as a Best Employer for Women for 2022

Delta is one of Forbes’ Best Workplaces for Women in the U.S. for a second year in a row, with employees giving top marks to the airline’s working conditions, benefits and representation of women in leadership.

The Forbes ranking reflects Delta’s ongoing efforts to be a great workplace for women in hiring and recruitment and executive representation.

“This recognition fuels our passion to continue making Delta an inclusive company that uplifts and encourages women,” said Joanne Smith, Delta’s E.V.P. and Chief People Officer. “It inspires us to continue our journey to provide a great workplace for women while increasing the number of women in leadership roles across the company.”

In partnership with Statista, a market research company, Forbes conducted an independent survey of more than 30,000 women currently employed at companies with at least 1,000 workers in their U.S. operations. The evaluation was based on criteria ranging from working conditions, compensation equity and benefits to career opportunities and diversity among top executives.

At Delta, creating an equitable business for women takes form in many ways. Delta participated in the International Air Transport Association’s 25by2025 initiative. This voluntary initiative launched in 2019 to increase the number of women in senior positions and underrepresented areas by 25% or up to a minimum of 25% by 2025.

Employees also are encouraged to join SHE, a women-led business resource group, where they are empowered to share their experience, take part in professional development, and create plans to make Delta become the preferred employer for women. Delta prioritizes women-specific needs as part of the 4-pronged well-being effort, which includes physical, financial, emotional, and social. Delta also recognizes the value of women in leadership and has committed to closing the representation gap between women in frontline roles and leadership roles.

The “Best Employers for Women 2022” honour is only one of many accolades Delta has earned over the last year. As a "Best Workplace for Diversity," Delta has been recognized as a "Best Workplace for Women" by Great Place to Work and Fortune for three years in a row, "Top-Rated Workplaces for Veterans" by Indeed, and "Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion," receiving a top score of 100 percent on the 2018 Disability Equality Index (DEI).
