To cope with its Dreamliner mechanical issues, the super long-haul low-cost carrier, Norwegian has had to extend the short-term wet-lease arrangements for the first part of the winter season.
The airline is retaining the use of the following aircraft, at least until 27th October and possibly longer to use on its various New York services.
London Gatwick – New York JFK 02nd Sep 18 – 27th Oct 18 1 of the 2 daily flights will be flown by a Wamos Air A330-200
Paris Orly – New York, Newark 15th Sep 18 – 27th Oct 18 a EuroAtlantic 777-200ER wil operate the 6 weekly flights
Rome – New York Newark 15th Sep 18 – 27th Oct 18 6 weekly flights will be on Privilege Style 777-200ER.
Norwegian recently wetleased Hi Fly's A380 on the London Gatwick - New York route, which proved popular with passengers, but was beset with massive delays, mainly to due to congestion at New York's JFK - where the gate capable of taking the A380 was already in use during Norwegian's scheduled arrival time. However, it is understood the wet lease specialists have been in discussions with Norwegian about a further lease period for the A380 on the route, operating to a slightly alternative schedule.
