A number of US airlines are putting profits ahead of evacuating people in the path of the strongest hurricane in recorded history.
As hurricane Irma bears down on Cuba and Florida some US airlines are hiking air fares by hundreds of dollars, putting profits ahead of people's lives. Delta put fares up from $547 to $3200, American Airlines raised fares from $190 to £734 and even higher.
As traffic clogged up roads in Key West, people wanting to leave Miami were quoted extortionate prices, such as more than $6,000 (£4,590) for a one-way trip from Miami to Atlanta with United.
Another person looking to book flights found four flights at prices of more than $6,000 from Miami to Denver, also with United.
