New A320neo For Sichuan Airlines

Sichuan Airlines, the largest all-Airbus-fleet airline in China, has taken delivery of its first A320neo earlier this week.

According to Airbus, Sichuan Airlines will operate the brand new aircraft on its domestic and international routes. The new jet is powered by Pratt and Whitney Pure Power engines and sports the incredibly effective 'Sharklets' the vertical wingtip extensions, which greatly aid fuel consumption of the aircraft.

In 1995, Sichuan Airlines became the first carrier to fly the A320, a fly-by-wire aircraft, on the Chinese mainland.  Since then the airline has steadily increased its fleet which now boasts 126 Airbus aircraft, including 116 A320s and 10 A330s.

The new A320neo aircraft features a comfortable two-class cabin configuration, featuring 8 seats in business and 150 economy class seats.
